Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

Morning Drop-off Traffic Patterns: 

Our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures are set to accommodate the large number of students that are on our campus every day.  The drive that leads to the main entrance of the school building is used by our 8th grade families for drop-off during the morning; the lower lot closest to our athletic fields is used by our 7th grade families. 

When pulling your vehicle up to the building, please pull your car up as far as you possibly can. Once your vehicle has stopped, please let your child out of the vehicle; do not wait for your vehicle to be closest to one of the entrances to the building. 

Please note that the heaviest volume and congestion for morning drop-off occurs between 8:05 – 8:15 am. All students are expected to be physically present in their homeroom by the 8:20 am bell. Any student who is not present in their homeroom at that time will be marked tardy/absent. 

Traffic Pattern: 

To ease the congestion of vehicles, we ask that our families who are dropping their child(ren) off at HMS each day follow this traffic pattern: 

• 7th Grade Families: All 7th grade families should access Foxcroft Drive via the Hillside Avenue entrance. You will then TURN LEFT and enter the lower parking lot roundabout. Once you have dropped your child off, please TURN RIGHT and go back towards Hillside Avenue.

• 8th Grade Families: All 8th grade families should access Foxcroft Drive via the Wynnewood Road entrance off of Northfield Avenue. Once on Foxcroft, you will TURN RIGHT into the main drive in front of the school. Once you have dropped off your child, please TURN LEFT and go back towards Wynnewood Road. 

Your compliance with this traffic pattern will support the safety and well-being of our students and their families, as well as assist us in establishing a timely routine for our morning arrival.
