Principal's Message

Dear HMS Families,

We had a great end to our week, closing it out with our 2nd Lancer Cup Activity for each grade level. Teams 7-2 and 8-1 were able to work together to complete the relay stations the fastest to capture the cup.

We also acknowledged several students who demonstrate qualities that we value within our school community and connect back to the LPS Portait of a Graduate who we acknowledged as our October Students of the Month. Please be sure to check out this feature below.

Lastly, as a reminder, Livingston Public Schools is closed on Monday, October 12th.

Have a great weekend.

7th Grade-Talia Zoller

PERSEVERANCE
Talia is an exceptional student, she consistently participates during class discussions taking chances at every opportunity. She works hard and asks questions when she may not understand the material and will take the time to meet with teachers outside of class time to discuss material. She is a model student for other 7th graders as they transition into 7th grade!

7th Grade - Dalia Tomashevsky

Dalia has been very helpful with new students, helping them get around and making sure they knew where their classes were. She is so friendly to all!

7th Grade - Ryder Rovell

RESPECT
Ryder comes to class every day prepared and ready to learn. He strives to do his best each and every day. I have seen Ryder holding the door for other students. He is very friendly and kind to the other students and to his teachers.

7th Grade - Brandon Schaffel

THOUGHTFULNESS
Brandon has displayed respect, thoughtfulness, and positivity when being a guide, friend, and kind person to a student who does not attend HMS, has joined the cross-country team. Brandon has taken the student under his wing, supporting him and showing him that he is capable of doing anything he puts his mind to! When asked about why, he shared that he knows there are some students and people in the world who just need a bit more support, and guidance to be the best version of themselves!

7th Grade - Leo Guiliwala

CURIOSITY
Leo comes to class with a great attitude every day.  When he knows the concepts already he asks thoughtful questions to extend his understanding.  It is very helpful to other struggling students.  He is excited about learning and looks for opportunities to try new things.

7th Grade - Julia Costa

POSITIVITY
Julia is so positive. She will work with anyone, she sees the bright side no matter what. She always arrives to class with a smile and is polite in her interactions with her peers and teachers alike!

8th Grade - Arman Ricciardelli

PERSEVERANCE
Armand has demonstrated a high level of maturity so far this school year, engaging in self-reflection when considering social choices he's made in the past and how he'd like to change that this year; he is already doing this and making amends. He demonstrates studiousness and independence with his academic responsibilities at school and at home. We are proud to watch his progress.

8th Grade - Kana Xiong

RESPONSIBILITY
Leadership Team for FBLA.  She was instrumental in developing the new entrance test for FBLA (this was created by the Leadership team this summer).  She also placed first in the national (she was awarded a banner) for the FBLA Nationals in San Antonio for accounting (we don't even teach accounting).  She continues to take the lead on projects that I need and is always ready to help.

8th Grade - Krivi Borkar

RESPECT
He is a wonderful young man. Krivi is always smiling and is always the first to help out. Students look to him for leadership and his positive spirit is contagious.

CURIOSITY
Rachel always comes to class prepared and ready to learn. In group projects, Rachel will take a leadership role . In class, she is ready to learn and asks good questions for herself and on behalf of her groupmates.

8th Grade - Farrah Kessler

POSITIVITY
Farrah is an extremely positive influence across the team. She is a frequent participant in my Period 3 social studies class and often helps other students without prompting, regardless of whether they are her friends outside of class. Her positive attitude across classes makes Team 84 better and helps other students learn more.
